No matter what design you choose for your programs, there are certain elements that are included in traditional programs.

The full names of the bride and groom, the wedding date, and the city and state where the wedding is taking place.

Traditional Ceremony basics, including the musical selections (lyrics if they’re especially meaningful to you), the composers and performers, as well as a list of readings, the authors, and the names of the readers.

Wedding party names and the name of the officiant should be included.

A thank-you note to both sets of parents and one to all the guests is a frequent addition.

For religious and non-religious ceremonies alike, it’s important to keep guests in the know by listing traditions, rituatl, and ethic customs.

If you wish to honor deceased loved ones, you can include a memorial on the back page with a photograph, a fond memory, poem, or quote.

Here are some wonderful ideas presented by the Knot

I am a scrapbooker so I am always looking for new creative ideas to use in my weddings. This one I found in a recent Martha Stewart Wedding issue. She has the best creative geniuses working for her! This is a simple way to let your out of towners know what activities are going on during your wedding weekend. You can include a greeting note, itinerary of events, a detailed map and a list of places to visit. Ask the hotel concierge to hang it on the door knob to their hotel room so when they arrive, they can check out all the local attractions . (Who doesn’t like to have something special waiting for their arrival

How To:

You will need 8 1/2 ” x 14″ Card Stock Paper, a ruler, craft knife, 2 1/2 inch circle craft punch, bone folder, & round label stickers

Print the word “welcome” twice across the top of a legal-size sheet of card stock. With a ruler and a craft knife, cut the card stock in half lengthwise; punch a hole on the bottom of each piece with a 2 1/2 inch circle punch. With a bone folder, crease each card stock strip 4 inches from the top and fold to form a pocket. Fasten sides with round label stickers

Here is my version of the project.

Enjoy!

This was a great wedding! (I say that a lot don’t I?) This is the first wedding that Morgan Jackson and I worked together on. Morgan owns and operates Simply Abundant Blooms. Her floral designs were very unique and perfect for Rebecca’s wedding. I also got to work with a very talented photographer from Dallas, Heather Thorne. Heather and Rebecca grew up together. I loved hearing their stories. You can see more pictures from this wedding on Heather’s website. It is a featured wedding!

We incorporated coffee beans in the design to really bring out the chocolate colors and enhance the sage colors in the wedding. It made the room smell great!

Now I am set to do Rebecca’s baby shower and I can’t wait!

I can not believe how fast a year can go by! One year ago yesterday, I was getting ready for my Big Day. What a great day it was too! This really geared me up to start planning weddings. I had so much fun planning it and knew that this is what I wanted to do from now on. We had a western theme wedding at Star Hill Ranch.

If you have never been to Star Hill Ranch, you are missing out on such a magical venue. Adam Woolley is the brains behind this creation. We had one of the largest weddings there consisting of 400+ guests. Dale and I knew that with so many people, we wanted to create a memorable day that was fun and exciting. Our guests knew it was going to be a wedding to remember when the invitations came. Designed by Bob Fonseca, our invitations mimicked a WANTED poster.

As guests arrived, we had margaritas and chips and salsa for them to enjoy. When it was time to head to the gazebo for the ceremony, a live gunfight lead their way. Here are some of the vendors.

Ceremony Music: Rich Demarco (Pianist), Kacy Crowley, Jimmy LaFave
Minister: Comedian Eddie Gossling
Photographers: Lisa Shepard and Servando Sanachez
Wedding Planner: Leslie Esparza
Caterer: Carrabba’s
Cake: Simon Lee
Ice Cream: Amy’s Ice Creams
Photobooth: Amy’s Ice Creams
Band: Skyrocket!

When you look at your wedding pictures, you never really notice the production of the wedding, unless you stop and look around. But who has time to do that? A good friend of mine, Bob Fonseca, came to the set up portion of one of my wedding in late March and took video of the production that was taking place for April and Darin’s wedding. This is not the final cut but still looks great. You will even see me in a few of the scenes.

This past weekend we had a wedding at Laguna Gloria. It was the perfect day for one too! You could not have asked for better weather. This was definitely a wedding to remember. Not to mention a guest to remember! The Bride and Groom were taking pictures as their guests enjoyed appetizers and wine. To get the crowed moving towards the buffet line, I kindly asked them to follow one of my assistants. I went up to a very tall man to ask him to follow the crowd. He towered over me and when I looked up, I noticed that it was Peyton Manning! I reached for my cell phone and imediately called my husband to tell him the news! He was so jealous.

The guests had such a great time. The guests dinned on food provided by 34th Street and danced to the always entertaining Newsboyz. I had worked with Newsboyz for years before starting my own business. They are always such a pleasure to work with.

The flowers were simple and beautiful. They were provided by Morgan Jackson and Simply Abundant Blooms. I had discovered Morgan on a whim while looking for an affordable florist for a Bride I had last December. I recommend her to all of my clients. She is versitle, affordable and great to work with!

Kevin and Lindsay were so fun to work with. Even though Kevin kept calling me Amber. I told him it was fine as long as it was not a negative name!

The fun part was the surprise Kevin had for Lindsay. He was in charge of their getaway car. He arranged for a horse drawn carriage to pick them up and take them to their house about 2 miles away. When the carriage arrive, it’s driver asked me to round up some burly men to help her get over a steep hill in route to their destination. I don’t think that she realized that the party had been going on for a few hours now and that there was drinking involved. I had one of my interns escort them to the hill, where the horse had no problem getting over. She had some interesting stories to tell when she returned.

It was the perfect day for a wedding!
